Topgolf: Miral announces new sports entertainment destination for Yas Island
Multi-level complex in Abu Dhabi to feature advanced ball-tracking technology
ABU DHABI – Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences, has announced the development of Topgolf Yas Island, adding another high-profile attraction to the emirate’s flagship leisure hub.
The project is currently under construction and has reached 28 percent completion, with opening targeted for 2026.
Developed in partnership with Viya, an authorised franchise partner of Topgolf, the venue is set to enhance Yas Island’s reputation as a global destination for sports and entertainment.
Topgolf Yas Island
The announcement marks Topgolf’s first location in Abu Dhabi, following the success of its Dubai venue, and aligns with Miral’s wider strategy to diversify entertainment offerings on Yas Island. Once complete, Topgolf Yas Island, Abu Dhabi will combine technology-driven gameplay with dining, events and social experiences designed for both seasoned golfers and first-time players.
Topgolf Yas Island, Abu Dhabi will feature a multi-tier driving range and entertainment attraction spanning approximately 6,500 square metres of Gross Floor Area, alongside a 19,000 square metre outfield driving range. The outfield will be equipped with TopTracer technology, enabling real-time ball tracking and interactive gameplay during sessions.
The venue will include 82 climate-controlled hitting bays, eight of which will be dedicated VIP bays, offering enhanced privacy and premium services. Designed to accommodate players of all abilities, the facility aims to position golf as an accessible and social sport while delivering a high-energy entertainment experience.
Jonathan Brown, Chief Portfolio Officer at Miral, said the project reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Yas Island’s global appeal. He said Topgolf represents innovation within sports entertainment, combining technology, leisure and social interaction in a format that appeals to a broad audience. According to Brown, the development supports Miral’s vision of attracting both residents and international visitors with world-class experiences.
Design features
The building will take the form of a three-level multi-entertainment complex. The ground floor will house a VR hitting bay, direct access to the tee line for practice and training, dedicated lounge areas and an outdoor event lawn. A specialised Pro Shop will also operate on this level, offering a curated range of golf equipment and merchandise.
Upper floors will feature a variety of dining and entertainment options, including a sports lounge and sky lounge with outdoor terrace spaces overlooking the range. Visitors will also have access to an arcade zone and a flexible event space capable of being reconfigured to host corporate gatherings, private celebrations and large-scale social events.
The design is intended to support extended dwell time, encouraging guests to engage with multiple elements of the venue beyond gameplay alone. Food and beverage offerings will play a central role, reinforcing Topgolf’s positioning as a social entertainment destination rather than a traditional golf facility.
UAE expansion
Christopher May, Chief Executive Officer at Viya, said the Abu Dhabi project builds on the strong performance of Topgolf Dubai, which has welcomed more than 2.7 million guests in five years of operation. During that period, the Dubai venue has earned over 29 industry awards, underscoring the brand’s appeal in the regional market.
May said the partnership with Miral and Topgolf International represents the next phase of Topgolf’s growth in the UAE, extending the concept to a new audience while maintaining the brand’s established standards. He added that the Yas Island development reflects continued confidence in the UAE’s leisure and entertainment sector.
Topgolf Yas Island, Abu Dhabi also reinforces Miral’s broader portfolio of attractions on the island. Existing destinations include Ferrari World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, CLYMB Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and Yas Marina. The new venue will complement existing golf facilities on the island, including Yas Links Abu Dhabi and Yas Acres Golf and Country Club, further diversifying Yas Island’s sports offering.
